Department of Physics and Technology of Nanostructures

The department of physics and technology of nanostructures is intended to prepare high-qualified specialists in this field.

The modern notion of nanostructures embraces a wide range of materials and devices applicable in absolutely different spheres: from electronics and mechanics to biotechnologies.

Besides the laboratories of the department, facilities for the trainees are provided by the Academic University, the Ioffe Institute and the Scientific-Engineering Centre of Microelectronics.

The department offers the following Master programs:

• 550704 — Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics;
• 550705 — Quantum and Optical Electronics;
• 550708 — Physics of Semiconductors and Dielectrics;

and one postgraduate program:

01.04.10 — Physics of Semiconductors.

Using unique experimental and technological base of the laboratories of academic institutes in the course of training creates favourable conditions for mastering modern research and technological methods.
